Preheat the oven to 350 F. Lightly butter a 9-inch square baking dish. Place the apple slices in the baking dish. In the bowl of a food processor, combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Pulse a couple of times to combine. Add the butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over the apples. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, until the apples are tender. Serve warm, with ice cream, if you like.
