7-day money-back — first subscription only
New Gastronome or Laboratory subscribers can request a full refund within 7 days of first charge for any reason. Email refunds@foodgeist.app with your Stripe receipt. Refunds process within 3 business days.
Applies to monthly AND annual plans on your FIRST subscription only. Subsequent cycles are non-refundable.
EU / UK statutory cooling-off
Residents of the EU / UK retain the 14-day statutory cooling-off right on first subscriptions, even when our policy is otherwise 7-day. We honor the longer of the two.
Cancellation
Cancel any subscription at any time from your profile. Access continues until the end of the paid period, then reverts to Apprentice (free). No cancellation fee, no retention tricks, no prorated refunds after the 7-day window.
Pause (instead of cancel)
Prefer to pause? Gastronome and Laboratory subscribers can pause billing for up to 3 months — useful for seasonal kitchens or sabbaticals. Resume from Profile → Manage Subscription anytime. Paused plans do not count against the 7-day refund window.
Referral credits
Referral credits ($5 Stripe balance per paying referee, after 30 days of their subscription) are refundable only in the form of account balance — they cannot be withdrawn as cash, per Stripe’s terms. If the referred subscription is refunded within 14 days, the referral credit is automatically clawed back.

Chargebacks
Please email us before filing a chargeback. We prefer to resolve issues directly and can usually refund faster than your bank can.
