Abstract
Nanoparticles have unique physicochemical properties compared to a macromolecule. Nanotechnology provides a new direction in the scientific world, widely used to develop new formulations with a high therapeutic index. A liposome is one of the best carriers for drugs and nutraceuticals. Regulated drug delivery enhances the bioavailability of the drug, which provides a high therapeutic index. A liposome is a suitable nonmaterial for the food and medicinal industries. Nanoencapsulation of bioactive food compounds is an emerging application of nanotechnology. Masking the undesirable flavor of the bioactive compounds and enhancing the nutritional value of food ingredients, and protect them from spoilage. Several kinds of liposomal nutraceutical products have been employed for curative and preventive action to control the disease with a high therapeutic index.
