ANCIENT CEREAL CULTURE FOR THE MODERN GROAT INDUSTRY

Abstract

At the origin of wheat-spelt breeding in Ukraine is the outstanding scientific breeder Fedir Pariy. As of today, seven varieties of wheat-spelt have been entered into the Register of plant varieties suitable for distribution in the territory of Ukraine. The first variety of spelt wheat Triticum spelta L. "Zoria Ukrainy" was entered into the register in 2011, and from that began the active study of this type of hulled wheat not only by breeders, but also by technologists, the goal of which was the introduction of hulled wheat in the domestic grain processing industry.
