Introduction to Nanotechnology in Food Preservation

Abstract
For millennia, food preservation has been an integral part of human civilization, motivated by the basic need to guarantee the availability of wholesome and safe food, no matter the time of year or place. The search to prolong the shelf life of perishable items has changed over time, from the ancient practices of sun drying and salting to the use of advanced processes in today’s food business (A. D. Gholap, Sawant, et al., 2023). A new frontier in this age-old pursuit has surfaced in recent decades, and it is known as nanotechnology.
