The field of 4D food printing explaining printed foods that change in response to different stimuli is relatively new. It charts the evolution of 4D food printing from an innovative concept to a revolutionary technology by detailing its approach and guiding ideas. Analysis, stimulus activation, and printing techniques comprise the postprinting phase and software, simulation, and intelligent food material selection comprise the preprinting phase.
