Abstract
Food packaging plays an indispensable part in ensuring the quality and safety of packed food products, thereby necessitating the selection of suitable composite materials for this purpose. Nanotechnology-based food packaging is one of the emerging avenues in the food and beverage packaging industry. Interestingly, fabricating nanoparticles and integrating them with bioactive food components to synthesize nano-based active packaging materials has attracted a great deal of interest. Nano-based products exhibit oxygen scavenging ability, antimicrobial activity, catalytic activity, and various other properties due to their peculiar molecular and structural characteristics. Besides ascertaining food quality, these innovative packaging systems also facilitate the transit preservation of products
