Abstract
AbstractFrom approximately 3.6 percent in 1985–1995 to less than 2 percent in 1995–2005, India's agricultural growth has slowed. This is far below the agriculture sector's goal of 4% annual growth by 2020. Food grain production is the main source of worry. Nanotechnology (NT) has been recognized as a promising technology for revitalizing the agricultural and food industries, as well as improving the life of the poor. Nanotechnology may help a variety of industries, including health care, materials, textiles, information and communication technology (ITC), and energy. Nanotechnology is used in crop production, food processing and packaging, food security and water purification, environmental remediation, crop enhancement, and plant protection in the agricultural industry.
