The influence of feeding sprouted grain on meat quality indicators in cattle

Abstract
<p>Recently, the inclusion of sprouted grains in animal feed has been confirmed to be an effective method to enhance digestibility and nutrition, thereby positively impacting livestock produc tivity and meat quality. This study was conducted to introduce the impact of using sprouted grain in cattle feed on meat quality indicators. It analyzed aspects such as carcass yields, phys icochemical composition (including the amount of dry matter, intramuscular fat, water, pH, protein, color, and hardness), as well as the amino acid and saturated fatty acid composition. Seeds of alfalfa, peas, wheat, and barley were sprouted in a hydroponic unit pre-disinfected with sodium hypochlorite solution and irrigated with a fertilizing hydroponic solution.
