Abstract
Abstract Food spoilage remains a major global challenge, driving economic losses, reduced nutritional quality, and increased food insecurity. Conventional preservation strategies, although widely used, face growing limitations related to sustainability, safety concerns, and restricted long-term effectiveness. Over the past decade, nanoscale engineering has gained recognition as a powerful approach for advancing food preservation through the development of advanced packaging materials, edible nano-coatings, antimicrobial systems, and smart sensing technologies.
