Abstract
Cereal bran, generated in large quantities during grain milling, has historically been regarded as a low-value byproduct and mainly directed toward animal feed or disposal. Increasing evidence regarding its rich compositional profile encompassing dietary fiber, high-quality proteins, lipids, essential micronutrients, and diverse bioactive phytochemicals has prompted renewed scientific and industrial interest. These constituents impart desirable functional properties and contribute therapeutic effects, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, hypolipidemic, and glycaemic-regulatory activities.
