What You Need to Know
Dalton's law states that in a mixture of non-reacting gases, the total pressure exerted is equal to the sum of the partial pressures of the individual gases. This empirical law was observed by John Dalton in 1801 and published in 1802. Dalton's law is related to the ideal gas laws.
Steps
- 1.
Shochu production (Japan): Separates and concentrates desirable aromatic compounds from fermented sweet potatoes/barley
- 2.
Absinthe distillation (Switzerland/France): Preserves volatile anise and fennel compounds while removing undesirable fractions
- 3.
Aguardiente preparation (Latin America): Allows selective evaporation of sugarcane-derived aromatics
