Description
Empirical law of partial pressures
Technical
Dalton's law states that in a mixture of non-reacting gases, the total pressure exerted is equal to the sum of the partial pressures of the individual gases. This empirical law was observed by John Dalton in 1801 and published in 1802. Dalton's law is related to the ideal gas laws.
Sensory Profile
Aroma ()
Wine Analogy
Similar to how different grape varietals contribute distinct aromatic compounds to a wine blend
Coffee Analogy
Like the layered aromas in espresso where volatile compounds separate during crema formation
Perfume Analogy
Comparable to top/middle/base notes in fragrance where different molecules evaporate at distinct rates
