Rinse off excess starch from the potatoes and bring to the boil in a pan of slightly salted water. Boil for around 10 minutes. Pour the oil into the roasting tin and heat it in the oven. Drain the potatoes in a colander and allow to dry for a few minutes. Warm the Bovril and drizzle it over the potatoes in the colander to obtain an even cross-hatched pattern. Mix the potatoes around to get an even coating. Put the potatoes into the hot roasting tin and stir with a spoon to cover them in oil. Roast the potatoes in the oven at 200 degC for approximately 1 hour. Serve hot.
